Hautnah is a German word meaning close to the skin.
Our signature merino wool bralette was created to embody that feeling—intimate, natural, and quietly luxurious. Designed for small busts, it offers gentle support without wires, padding, or synthetic materials.
Each Hautnah bralette is hand knit in Bellingham, WA using superfine, non-superwash merino wool—chosen for its exceptional softness, breathability, and warmth.
Unlined and free from hardware, it is shaped to honor the body rather than reshape it. Designed to provide gentle warmth and natural coverage, it allows the breasts to move freely—supporting the body as it is, not as it’s told to be.
It is not lingerie designed for performance.
It is a garment for presence.

Original Hautnah bralettes are made from superfine merino—a sumptuously soft wool chosen for its breathability, natural elasticity, and longevity. Occasionally, other natural fibers such as silk and cashmere are thoughtfully incorporated.
All fibers are non-superwash and untreated, free from synthetic coatings, and sourced from companies that respect both the land and the animals.

Each Hautnah bralette is hand-knit slowly, one stitch at a time, using fine-gauge needles for a refined, lightweight finish.
Most pieces require 6–8 hours to create, and are made to order or released in very small runs.

I began Worn Close in search of something I couldn’t find—a piece that felt soft, supportive, feminine, and free all at once.
I wanted to create something that encourages a sense of presence—a slower, more considered way of living.
My German background gave me the word Hautnah—close to the skin—and with it, the beginning of Worn Close.
Each piece carries time, touch, and care. When you wear it, it becomes part of your own—a special addition to your daily rituals.
